Traditional agricultural estate with a long-term approach to high quality farming

Together, the estates that make up the East Neuk Estates cover some 6,000 hectares – only a very small part of Fife's 100,000ha of agricultural land, but our engagement with the East Neuk and its communities is very committed and the gentle balance of support back and forth between the communities and the estates goes back 850 years.

Today, we not only continue to farm the land to produce local food of the highest quality, but also contribute to the life of the East Neuk in many other ways.  For example we provide facilities to a local school, water to houses on private supplies, premises to local voluntary organisations, roads and paths for our neighbours to enjoy.  In this way we seek to be active members of one of the most vibrant communities in Scotland.

Our work together reflects not just our part in the local community.  As custodians of part of one of the most beautiful landscapes in Scotland we take great care of our woodlands; planting new trees for future generations as well as managing our existing trees for today's needs of wildlife and timber.  We recognise that the landscape and its wildlife is important to everyone and we do our best – working with Fife Council, Scottish Natural Heritage, the RSPB, the GWCT, Historic Scotland, SEPA and others – to try to ensure that we find the right balance in what is a wonderfully intricate and beautiful part of Scotland.

We are very proud to be part of the East Neuk of Fife.
